LITEWORX PRODUCTIONS

We are about capturing and documenting light through fine art photography, black and white photography restoration and your photo images set to music and special effects whether it is vacations, weddings, homecomings or reunions. Although we do not do formal wedding photography, we specialize in capturing those candid timeless moments of interactions between friends and loved ones.

I am often inspired to write poetry when in the field doing photography or as an outlet for my emotions at important moments in my life. You will experience them in this site and in our blog. It is our hope that your experience with us will draw you closer to the things you love and help strengthen your connection to and respect for our living universe and the world we inhabit.

Carl James

Photographer-Architect

Carl has seriously pursued photography for the past 10 years. He bought his first SLR camera in 1979 with money received from his employer for a wedding present.
Carl has exhibited extensively in Springfield venues including The Busch Municipal Building, Hammons Performing Arts Center, The Nature Center, The Well Fed Head, Waverly House Gifts and Gallery, The Hawthorne Gallery, the Springfield public libraries and various other businesses in the area.

Carl is a member of the Southwest Missouri Camera Club, the Springfield Visual Arts Alliance and Springfield Regional Arts Council.

Carl’s achievements include various awards in juried competitions in the Southwest Missouri Camera Club, juror’s choice awards in the Springfield Visual Arts Alliance juried competitions and various awards in the Salute to Construction photo competitions.

Carl’s special photography interests include landscapes, architecture, and bridges. His subjects also include manipulated colorful abstractions with a hint of surrealism and symbolism. Carl said “I became seriously interested in photography as a record of my explorations in the natural environment of southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas. I soon found that the hiking trips had become secondary to the photography.
The thing I love about photography is that it sharpens my visual and emotional sensitivity to the world around me. The camera lens acts as a conduit to see beyond the mundane and focus on the beautiful interplay of light and space.

Seth

Seth James

 

Photographer & Video Artist

Seth James, the son of Carl James, has lived in the Ozarks all his life, spending a large portion of that time hiking Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas and canoeing and kayaking their clear streams. Seth always carries a camera and is known for his unusual photographic interpretations of his subject matter. If I am taking a photograph of a bridge, Seth will be lying on the railroad track taking a shot along the rail with me in the distance. You will find Seth’s approach to photography symbolic, surrealistic, thought-provoking and refreshing. Seth’s digital manipulations are simply otherworldly.
